Local Cheese Tasting

This is the perfect opportunity to learn about the Highlander culture of Zakopane and the surrounding Podhale region. We will take you to one of the oldest houses in Zakopane, once owned by one of the most famous highlanders. From there we will continue to a local cheese hut (Bacowka) where we will explain more about highlander culture and you will taste different forms of the renowned smoked sheep’s cheese – Oscypek.

Treetop Walk Bachledka

This is your chance to visit our neighbouring country and see some beautiful nature in Slovakia. The Tree Top walk is one of the top attractions offering an exceptional view of the Tatra mountains.
The tour is not guided.

The Tree Top walk is located near the village of Zdiar in Slovakia in the Bachledova Valley. Once we reach the parking area, there is a cable car taking you to the top of the hill in the forest of Magura Spiska mountain range. From there the tree top walk is about 600m long and the observation tower 32m high. The walk is especially engaging thanks to many educational stops that introduce you to the local fauna and flora. Looking over the entire forest and onto the spectacular Bielskie Tatras is a sight you won’t forget soon. There is a bit of adrenaline rush for those brave enough to walk across a netter area at the top of the observation tower.

The Gorce Gateway

Let us take you to this unique place which will enable you to take pleasure in discovering local nature and landscape values in the Kowaniec stream valley.
An attractive terrain with good infrastructure is an ideal option to spend free time with family or friends. A shepherd’s hut, viewing towers, a gallery in tree tops, rich gastronomic, educational and recreational infrastructure will surely meet the needs of exploring. 
 
This is a guided half day tour. We will take you from Zakopane to Gorce Gateway. From the parking lot there is a 4 km walk, optionally a bus or tourist train to catch.

Once we get to the Gorce Gateway you have 2 hrs free time over there including a restaurant or a coffee shop.

Other useful info:

Take warm clothes and a rain jacket with you in case the weather changes. It is often windy on the top. Take comfortable boots. The guide will assist you up to the Gorce Gateway entrance and will wait for you at the agreed place.

Themed Tour – Jewish Secrets in Zakopane

On this tour we would like to introduce you to a completely different Zakopane that you may not have heard of. Before the II World War Jewish families accounted for 15% of Zakopane’s population. There was a vibrant Jewish community with a synagogue, shops, workshops and a cemetery here. Nowadays due to German Nazis actions you can barely find any signs of their past here but we would like to help you discover this lost world and rich cultural Jewish history.

At the end of the tour we will go to the oldest restaurant in Zakopane “U Wnuka”. In the 70 ‘s of the XIX century the building was run by Jewish businessman who opened the very first shop in Zakopane. He also established a guest house with a restaurant which is still running today. Here we will enjoy some local dish samples
